No.
Evolutionary science is based on the scientific method.
Evolution has no deities, it has no sacred truths, and the theory itself is falsifiable which means that any part of it that is genuinely shown to be false is modified or thrown away.
So… no.
Evolution:It’s not a religion but it is a belief system, or a faith that’s not based on logic as it asserts, but on assumption. It doesn’t seem to meet the definition of science. which incompasses only what can be measured, duplicated or verified, by sight, sound, smell, touch etc. What can science prove in this area? Natural selection is the truth at least on earth. Species do differentiate in response to the environment. Species do go extinct. The fossils tell us that. The earth is billions of years old. Based on many different methods of figuring. Science cannot prove life is millins of years old. Because of the many assumptions of radiometric dating. Science cannot prove the primordial soup theory. Science has never seen a new species arise from another species. Bones and fossils don’t cut it. Kind always begets kind is the only thing science can prove. Science has never seen a beneficial mutation. The only mutations science has observed hurt the organism. Sickle cell protects against malaria maybe but also makes much anemia. It’s a wash. Frank
Actually science has seen a tremendous amount of beneficial mutations. One scenario is germs. Unfortunately for the drug industry germs tend to mutate and become resistant to anti-biotics. This is certainly a beneficial mutation for the germ.
Frank,
Perhaps you should read more about evolution, rather than creationist claims against it.
Your statements are flawed.
You are speaking of Macroevolution.
Scientists study subtle changes that can be observed. If a fish changes into a frog in a couple of generations, that would be evidence against evolution.
Furthermore, you are not familiar with when and how they use radiometric dating. A ruler is not a good use of measure in all circumstances. That doesn’t mean that a ruler is a flawed form of measure. Geologists use samples and experiment with different methods of dating those samples to be able to get the best reading for the criteria.

Belief in the Scientific Method is just as much a religion as any other. There are things that defy the scientific method as many have learned it. Think quantum mechanics. Tying oneself to any singular belief system is always a mistake.
I disagree. The scientific method is more of a “disbelief” or skeptic system. There is nothing sacred about the scientific method.
As far as quantum mechanics, an explanation is applied to a problem that best fits until a better explanation comes along. There is nothing there that conflicts with or defies the scientific method.
The scientific method is a tool that has proven itself through countless trials to be the best tool we have for discerning the universe. It’s used because it works, not because of belief in it.
germs dont mutate as a result of antibiotics, the germs that survive do so because of a negative mutation that is otherwise harmful. That’s a false example of evolution because there is no new genetic information in the bacteria.
It’s too bad the hypothesis of evolution requires millions of beneficial random mutations and the best they can come up with shows none. Only an otherwise harmful mutation present in a small minority that allows them to survive a drug.
Nobody is saying that “germs mutate as a result of antibiotics.”
Mutations however that allow some germs to survive a common antibiotic are most definitely beneficial mutations for the germs.
Actually antibiotics are known to become less effective the more often you take them. Take insulin for example, its not really an antibiotic but is holds a good story.
Insulin WAS used as a wonder cure for potentialy hundreds of minor illnesses caused by germs. It was used extensively from the early 1900’s to about the 50’s or 60’s. If you were sick, you would get an insulin shot.
Because of the exposure of these common germs to high levels of insulin, they have evolved to no longer be very effected by it. Because the main factor in evolution is a change in the organizims souroundings, the bacteria and germs got used to their enviroment that was full of insulin.
Insulin is no longer a miracle cure, to the contrary, it is intentionaly not used a lot of the time where it would still be effective, just so they can protect its potentcy for future generations. If they used it for everything as they did before, it would slowly become ineffective to everything.
Also think of the Bird Flew. Currently scientists are rather scared that it may cange into an airborn disease. Currently it is strictly by direct exposure, such as handling or eating an affected animal. The only way it could become a worldwide pandemic is if it evolved into an airborn disease.
This is to know one in particular, just a continuation of the topic. Penicillin is the antibiotic he speaks of, Insulin is used to help cells absorb sugar. If you do not believe in evolution than stop taking the new medicines that come through every year based on the knowledge of evolutionary biology to combat flu, it would be a sacrilege. In the age of pandemics and globalization we need to let our school’s teach science and stop bogging them down with all this rhetoric designed to disguise the subject. Get off the fence, eat from the tree of knowledge (you’re being punished for it anyway), or go live with nature, either way, you will find peace through nature, if you don’t die of exposure.
Evolution is based on Science. Science is the study of man known to be true. Science gives us all kinds of groovy theories, like Evolution, which still only a theory, you know kind of like gravity. Belief is holding an opinion that something is true. If a belief can be proved to be true it becomes knowledge. Belief is a pretty weak reason for me to base my life on an old and obviously immoral collection of books whose History and Science are obviously flawed, but what is even weaker is faith. Faith is belief without evidence. So Science is what man knows is true and faith is what man holds a very strong opinion on to be true with no evidence. In summary Evolution is Science, Religion is faith.
When I go to a University Science building and see Professors holding hands and reciting autobrainwashing mantras like “we believe that evolution is real, praise be to Darwin” then I will become suspicious.
It seems schooling on the topics of Evolution have been remiss in representation.
Changes in the genetic makeup of any creature, mutations, occur everyday, but for those mutations to survive into the next generation they need to survive the current generation.
In the case of bacteria it is those that have the mutations that don’t kill the organism and that can survive the effects of Penicillin that can continue into the next generation given that the mutation does not affect the reproduction system.
If the reproduction system is affected then the offspring may have any number of things occur that may be well beyond the effects of the original mutation, good, bad and/or recessive.
So Evolution requires these things:
-Survival of the creature as is.
-Mutation of natural biological systems and surviving these changes.
-Survival of the creature and offspring through reproduction phase.
-Repeat for offspring.
In the end it’s a numbers game, if I’m struggling for food (Hi, I’m a bacteria) and Penicillin comes along and I’m immune to its affects but my neighbours aren’t, I’ve got all the resources to take over the neighbourhood.
In reality, no single religion could guarantee us a place in Heaven. In the end, what matters is how we a treat other people.`*;
