We have found so many extrasolar planets which exist outside our galaxy that it's amazing. We have found other planets like our own and even found planets within the habitable zone distance from some stars. Of course, without being able to get closer we can only get a rough idea of whether these extrasolar planets can actually support life, but, regardless we have found SO many that I think the odds are great that there is life on other planets out there. Unfortunately even traveling at NEAR the speed of light these planets are so ridiculously far away from us that we would all be dead before we got to any of these planets. The reality is we would either have to break the speed of light barrier somehow OR another possibility is that space (matter) does not exist as we think it does and we can perform a... (tesseract?) The general concept is you simply change where you are instantly because space does not exist so in reality you are everywhere and nowhere at once. (yin yang universe, do a google for "matter does not exist" for more info on this theory.) So basically in theory I am standing here on earth and I wave my magic wand (or something way more technical) and I am out near Glieus whatever extrasolar planet instead of where I am currently. This is of course just an interesting theory, yet it is likely the only one short of sending humans in stasis sleep (very dangerous) or creating some sort of massive ship people can live on. (very hard to find energy when you get far away from the suns/stars) (the voyager probes which are just now in the heliosphere are going to run out of power cause of no power source.) BTW those Voyager probes were launched decades ago and they are just now "starting" to exit our own galaxy.

Anyways my MAIN point.......If it is not possible to go as fast / faster than speed of light and or not possible to tesseract from one place to another than I can honestly state that we have in no way been visited by aliens.

Of course I cannot prove anything this is all just purely speculation. Anything is possible until I can scientifically prove that it is not. I cannot disprove any possibility, I can simply state the facts that I know. I am science, this is science.
